37. TEA PARTY
Having Tea
with a party of three -
the memory of you
my bunny
and me.
 
Drinking wine
to pass the time -
a toast to you
(my third glass)
and I feel fine.
 
Re-living the past
is such a gas -
but somehow
I forgot
how to laugh.
 
But - what's this here -
is it raining I fear?
My parties ruined -
oh no - it's all right
it's only a tear.
 
Don't go now please -
we're having fun - see!
with the memory of you
my bunny

38. TRAVELING MAN
When you're not here
When you're not near
my thoughts turn to you
as they usually do.
 
And I find that I care
a great deal for you -
your thoughts and feelings
and all that you do.
 
So far far away and
I miss you so much -
Your sweet soft kiss
your gentle warm touch
 
And all that I wish
I could ever more do
is have and to share
my heart's love with you.
 
 
39. HEARTBREAK
What can i do
When my hearts been hurt
When I'm down and blue
and I cry out to you.
 
Just what would it take
just when you've made my heart break -
what could you say
to make the pain stay away.
 
It's easy to trust
When you're hoping so much
to find someone there -
someone who'll care.
 
And you find it's not so
and there's no where to go
and you're left with your fears
empty loneliness and tears.

41. NICE TIMES
Thinking of nice things
of things that are said,
things that are written
and things that are read.
 
Of sunbeams
and sweet dreams
and birds flying high.
 
Of long boat rides
feeling good inside
and kits in the sky.
 
Bright butterflies
and soft brown eyes
and bright harvest moons.
 
Soft firelight
on cold winters nights
and country fair balloons.
 
I could go on,
and the list would grow long,
remembering nice places,
and times,
and songs.
 
But when remembering nice things,
and often I do,
I start with nice times
that I've had with you.

 

 

42. These walls of me,
my home -
cold -
cry for a warm fire
to take the chill away.
Picturing a cheery glow,
dancing -
the loss -
of a comfortable peace
endlessly chilling.

For all the things you've done for me,
for all the things you've said,
for all the lovely memories
you've left dancing in my head.
 
I wish that i could give to you
the moon and stars above,
but since I can't - they're far too high,
I'll give to you my love.

usually living

Here again,
playing the same old game -
the names may be different
but the tunes still the same.
 
The words are harder
my voice growing dim -
and it'd hard to keep hoping
for one more chance, one more win.

One card for luck -
Never drawing a winner
with losses I'm stuck.

 

I'm tired of losing
of playing these games.
It's so hard being hurt
and feeling so much pain.
 
47. TRAVELING ON
All the bright green lights
are turning to red -
Another change
in the scene ahead.
And I'm out on the highway
And the road seems so long
and time so endless
when your dreams are all gone.

in dreams - I see -
no visions here
to strengthen me.
I take no comfort
in what I hear.
I feel only
what I fear.
 
Hiding pain
deep in my heart.
I feel alone-
I feel apart.
No one to hear
my silent plea.
No one's hand
to comfort me.

 

 

49. MISUNDERSTANDING
It does not matter
which paths we choose.
Which dreams tumble -
which hopes we lose.
 
What matters is
that friendship last
not based on future
or failed pasts.

and kind
And inside
I like what I find.
He pleases me
and teases me
